The French Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan seeks to make people aware of the rich culture and history of French Canadians in North America, with special emphasis on those who explored and settled in Michigan. Our aims are: To promote an awareness of and an appreciation for our French-Canadian heritage in Michigan; to facilitate contact and interaction among people of French-Canadian descent, for the purpose of researching family histories; and to act as an educational and social group by sponsoring and participating in functions that further interest in and awareness of the French-Canadian heritage in North America. 

The GSFA helps people trace their Flemish and Belgian heritage; publishes a newsletter and magazine of pictures, stories, queries, and genealogy information; and has a large library of genealogy and Belgian heritage material at the American House in Roseville, Michigan, USA.

The German-American Heritage Foundation is the only national membership organization through which Americans, proud of their German heritage and language, work together on vital issues of common concern. With almost 18,000 members throughout the United States, we continuously strive to add programs and services which nationally highlight the contributions and achievements of our ethnic group

Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum is a preservationist group committed to keeping maritime history alive and well by operating the first maritime museum that honors the people who served the shipping industry.

It’s mission is to collect, preserve, study and interpret the material culture of the Great Lakes with primary emphasis on maritime history as it relates to the U.S. Lifesaving Service, U.S. Lighthouse Service, U.S. Coast Guard, ships and travelers who fell victim to the perils of maritime transport.

The Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society began as the Orchard Lake Scenic and Historical Society on January 28, 1974. In May, 1978, the name was changed to the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society to better reflect the organization’s focus on and inclusion of Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor, and Sylvan Lake.

The Grosse Ile Historical Society was organized in 1959 and has, since 1967, operated a museum in the old Michigan Central Railroad depot at the corner of East River Road and Grosse Ile Parkway. With the acquisition of the 1870s Customs House and its removal in 1979 from Macomb Street to a spot just behind the depot, the Society’s meeting and museum facilities were greatly expanded.

Grosse Pointe Historical Society aims to promote the preservation of local heritage and share the knowledge with the community.

The Henry Ford Estate is the estate where Henry and Clara Ford lived. The gardens and grounds are open from 8 am – 6 pm free of charge, but the home is not currently open for tours.

The mission of the Henry Ford Heritage Association is to foster interest in the life and accomplishments of Henry Ford, and to preserve and interpret the landmarks associated with his life.

The HCGL has a collection of vessel data sheets created over the past thirty years and a collection of approximately 90,000 images of Great Lakes vessels.

The Historic Fort Wayne Coalition was formed in 2004 by a group of individuals from all walks of life who share one common goal - to be a positive force for the restoration and promotion of Detroit's Historic Fort Wayne. In 2007 the Coalition was awarded 501(c)(3) non-profit status by the IRS.  We work side by side with the City of Detroit Recreation Department, Friends of Fort Wayne, Colonial Dames in the State of Michigan, the Detroit Historical Society, Tuskegee Airmen and other groups.

The IGSM is a non-denominational organization focusing on genealogical research in all thirty-two counties of the Emerald Isle.

JGS of Michigan is a leader in education, research, information exchange forums and resources for Jewish genealogy.

JHS of Michigan educates, celebrates and promotes awareness of the contributions of the Jews of Michigan to our state, our nation and the world.

Mackinac State Historic Parks is a family of living history museums and nature parks in northern Michigan’s Straits of Mackinac and is an agency within the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

The Macomb County Historical Society and its Crocker House Museum provide educational experiences of Mount Clemens and Macomb County History through the use of artifacts, rotating exhibits, publications, stories, and special educational programs.

The Marine Historical Society of Detroit, a nonprofit organization founded in 1944 provides a focal point for individuals and organizations interested in and concerned with the history of the Great Lakes and its maritime heritage.

The website is an ongoing experiment in the design of a "digital library", a collection of documents intended to be of value to those researching Great Lakes History.

The Michigan Council for History Education was founded by K-12 teachers, university professors and citizens committed to quality history instruction in the state of Michigan. It is an affiliate of the National Council for History Education. The Michigan Council for History Education hosts an annual conference in the late autumn of every year where teachers can learn new pedagogy, sample lesson plans, and network with other teachers in the field.
