Celebrate Educator Appreciation Month this August with a month-long tribute to the dedication and impact of educators of every kind. Teachers, paraprofessionals, public and school librarians, and other educational support staff and school employees are invited to enjoy free admission to both the Detroit Historical Museum and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum during regular business hours.
Take time to explore exhibitions, recharge with inspiring stories, and gather ideas to bring back to your classroom. It’s a small way for us to say thank you for the big impact you make every day.
In addition to free museum admission, educators will be eligible for discounts in the museum stores, and discounted membership packages.
Guests are required to show a school, educational facility, or library ID, or a current paystub at the front desk for free admission.
Also, teachers can earn SCECHs by attending our free back-to-school professional development sessions.
