Print, Photographic
One black and white photographic print (and three copies) of a hallway inside the Stroh stockhouse lined with open cypress wood fermenting vats. Here, yeast is added to the wort. The fermentation process takes more than a week. From this process on, the liquid is now referred to as beer. The photograph appears to be taken from floor level. There is an exposed pipe and light fixtures on the ceiling. On two of the copies there is a black ink stamp on the verso with text that reads "Ransier-Anderson Photography, 3408 Woodward Ave., Detroit 1, Michigan" and handwritten in pencil "C2524-3." Handwritten in pencil on the verso of one copy is "Cypress fermenting tanks." Handwritten in pencil on the original is "Fermenters" and in orange crayon "F#3."
