Trophy

One drag racing trophy from the Detroit Dragway. The trophy has rectangular base and top pieces made of white marble and a decorative central column made of stamped metal that has gold-colored fluted sides and a decorative brown and gold-colored scrollwork design at the center. A silver-colored cast metal figure of a female angel that is holding a small torch in its upraised arms is mounted on the marble top piece at the top of the column. A silver-colored metal plate on the front of the marble base has engraved text that reads "Detroit Dragway." The angel figure, top piece, column, and base are all held together with a nut/bolt assembly which is visible on the underside surface of the base. No manufacturer's name or marks are visible.
