Print, Photographic

Two photographs in a frame that show nighttime views of the Detroit Edison Conner Creek Power Plant in Detroit. The upper photo shows an early view of the plant in the 1920's. The lower view shows the plant in the 1960's with its tall, distinctive smokestacks that were locally known as the "seven sisters" and "two brothers." Lights along the shoreline are reflected on the calm waters of the Detroit River in both photos. The photo is held in an oak wood frame with blue/gray matte borders and protective glass. An engraved brass nameplate beneath the lower photo reads "Conners Creek." The oak wood frame has been finished with a dark brown stain. A gold-colored adhesive label on the back has black text that reads "Grant's Fine Picture Frames, 810-791-4982."
