Platter
One platter from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS Manitou, of the Manitou Steamship Company. The oval-shaped platter is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has a flat upturned rim with a thickened outer edge. Narrow red stripes encircle the platter along the inner and outer edges of the rim. The decorative red logo of the "Manitou Steamship Company, Chicago," is stamped on the rim at the center of one of the long sides of the platter. The underside is stamped with a green logo and text that reads "Vitrified" and "John Maddock & Sons, England." Additional red text reads "Burley & Co., Chicago."
