Pitcher, Water

One water pitcher from the dining room of the passenger steamship, SS City of Detroit, of the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company. The pitcher is made of heavyweight white glazed china. It is has an open top with a wide spout, a round body with straight sides that flare outward slightly to form a wider base, and a decorative rectangular handle with a thumb rest. The pitcher is plainly-decorated with some scrollwork on the handle and faint ridge lines that encircle the outside near the rim and base. A blue/white image of the "D&C" company flag is stamped on the side below the spout. No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
