Abandoned vessels in the "Bone Yard"-July 12, 1902

Watercolor painting by Arthur Hopkin Gibson of a row of three abandoned ships in the "bone yard" at the foot of 24th Street, painted in 1970 from a sketch done on July 12, 1902. Gibson labeled each vessel via a caption below. "Eldorado of Detroit? Colorado of Detroit? 'ORADO of DETROIT,' only, visible on the stern," is beneath the boat on the left. The EMERALD is in the center. The remains of the passenger steamer MILTON D. WARD are on the right.
