Matchbook

One matchbook cover from one of the steamships of the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company fleet. The cover is made of heavyweight tan card stock paper that is printed in multi-color ink which shows a drawing on the exterior that depicts a port side view of the passenger steamship, GREATER DETROIT, underway in fair weather on a lake. Adjacent black/red/white text reads "Detroit and Cleveland, Detroit and Buffalo," and "D&C Lake Lines Steamers - The Grand Fleet of the Great Lakes" as well as "Passenger, Auto, and Freight Service," and "The Great Lakes Way." The matchbook cover interior is blank. A match striker strip is located along the lower edge of the matchbook and adjacent small white printed text reads "The Ohio Match Co., Wadsworth, Ohio," and "Made in U.S.A."
