Key
One key and fob from room number 1925 of the Book-Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. The standard cylinder key is made of nickel-plated brass and the room number, "1925," has been stamped on one side along with "Made in U.S.A." and the letters, "GE." Stamped text on the opposite side reads "Yale & Towne Mfg. Co." and "Yale." A 1.5-inch long brass chain at the top of the key has an attached, rectangular fob that is made of nickel or silver-plated brass. The obverse side of the fob depicts an image of an open book with a raised image at the center that depicts the shield and crown logo of the hotel. Raised text beneath the logo reads "Book-Cadillac Hotel, Detroit." Stamped text on the reverse shows the room number, "1925," and adjacent raised text reads "If Key Is Removed By Mistake, Kindly Return By Mail" and "Postage Paid." Small raised text near the lower edge of the fob shows the manufacturer's name, "Whitehead-Hoag."
