Cup, Coffee
One coffee cup and saucer from the dining room of the SS Benson Ford of the Ford Motor Company steamship fleet. Both pieces are made of heavyweight, off-white glazed china. The cup is cylindrical in shape with sides that taper slightly to a narrower bottom. It has a plain rim and a plain handle with a narrow, dark green stripe. A similar narrow, dark green stripe encircles the cup above the midpoint and dark green script text on the front shows the name, "Ford." The saucer has a plain round rim and edge with a dark green stripe and text on top to match the cup. Both pieces are stamped with dark green text on the underside that reads "Shenango China, New Castle, PA, U.S.A." and "Rimrol Welroc," with "X18" on the cup and "H15" on the saucer.
