Chain, Engineer's
Engineer's chain, consisting of 100 iron links, each exactly one foot long, with bronze handles at each end and marks along length. (A surveyor's chain is only 66 feet long with links of 7.92 inches.) Chain found by W.J. Fraser in an excavation around Cleveland, OH.
