Thanksgiving Parade
November 1959

16mm reel containing a series of shots of workers preparing floats and costumes for the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade set to music. The scenes include workers painting and assembling a Christmas tree-shaped element, a worker demonstrating the articulation on the mouth and neck of the Mother Goose float, a child inside of a hatching egg element, a worker preparing Santa Claus' sleigh, and a worker unwrapping a paper-mâché clown head from wrapping paper printed with "Made In Italy" followed by shots of the other paper-mâché characters on racks.

The film is wound on a black plastic reel, and housed in a metal canister which is in turn within a cardboard box. A printed label is affixed to the side of the reel which reads "Smigielski 1551195 17." A typewritten label on the lid of the canister reads "Thanksgiving Parade, November 1959."
