Step into the past on a docent-guided tour of the Oakland History Center at Pine Grove, a remarkable 4½-acre historic campus just north of downtown Pontiac.
Known as “Pine Grove” by its most prominent owner, Michigan Governor Moses Wisner, the property has been preserved as a time capsule of 19th-century life. The Oakland County Historical Society, founded in 1874, has called Pine Grove home since 1945.
Explore the Wisner mansion and grounds along with the Drayton Plains One-Room Schoolhouse and Carriage House. Along the way, discover the people, stories and everyday experiences that shaped Oakland County’s history.
The tour will include walking outside. The schoolhouse and the library are handicapped accessible, the main house is not.
