Help bring Currents in Color to life! Created by Detroit-based multidisciplinary designer Brontae Williamson, this community painting project invites visitors to add their own brushstrokes to a vibrant mural inspired by Detroit's people, waterways, and natural beauty.
Throughout the summer, participants will paint one of sixteen 4-foot-square paint-by-number-style panels that together will form a 32-by-8-foot mural. Once complete, the panels will be assembled and permanently installed on the west-facing wall of the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. The finished work celebrates Detroit's creative spirit, the region's rich maritime heritage, and the legacy of Paint-by-Number—a Metro Detroit innovation that transformed art into a shared experience.
