As the Henry Ford presents the internationally touring exhibition “Enduring Ideals: Rockwell, Roosevelt & the Four Freedoms” through January 13, 2019, we are offering a partnership activity to explore how its themes resonate in Detroit.
"Enduring Ideals" looks at the power of Norman Rockwell’s iconic paintings as change agents, uniting the American public in defense of basic human freedoms: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear.
During upcoming weekends and special events at the Detroit Historical Museum, we'll ask visitors to add their voices to our community quilt, considering how each of the Four Freedoms resonates with Detroit's story. We'll weave our interactive quilt throughout the fall with voices of all ages and experiences from across the city.
