As a non-profit organization, the Detroit Historical Society depends upon financial support from the community in order to achieve our goals, including the programs and exhibits at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum.

Donations support:

• Conservation and preservation of the more than 200,000 artifacts in our care
• New exhibits and programs at both the Dossin Great Lakes Museum and the Detroit Historical Museum
• Protection and security of artifacts, exhibits and guests
• Educational tours for schoolchildren and community groups
