L is for Lighthouse
Great Lakes lighthouses served a practical purpose for nearly two centuries. Many also became regional icons and have developed a loyal following. Beach walkers enjoy them because of their picturesque and romantic appeal. Ardent fans travel great distances to visit unique and historic lights. However, only dedicated enthusiasts understand the practical technology that guided their design and application.

S.S. William Clay Ford Pilot House
The SS. William Clay Ford, a Great Lakes freighter, was scrapped in 1987 and its pilot house was brought to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum and became part of the Museum itself.
