What kinds of events could you help me host at the Detroit Historical Museum?
We can help you host most any kind of event, from birthday parties and business meetings to weddings and receptions. The Detroit Historical Museum accommodates 25 to 2,000 guests. Let our events planning expert help you determine how much space you need.
Can I rent the Museum during normal business hours?
In many cases, you can host your event during regular Museum hours. Ask our events planning expert if your event qualifies.
Is smoking allowed in the Museum?
The Detroit Historical Museum is a smoke-free environment.
Is parking available for my guests?
Your guests may park in our 55-space, secure parking lot adjacent to the Museum. You may also choose to add valet parking to your event package for an additional charge.
What A/V equipment is available at the Museum?
You may choose to use our DVD player, projection system with screen, and sound system in the auditorium. We also offer a lectern and microphone on the lower level. Some areas in the Museum are equipped for pre-recorded audio. Our support team will help you with your set up.
Can I bring my own caterer?
Yes, but ask our expert to show you our list of preferred caterers. They’ve provided quality service to many a satisfied client and know our facilities like their own kitchens!
Does the Detroit Historical Society have a liquor license?
No, but although we do not hold a liquor license, you may serve adult beverages at your event as long as your caterer has all appropriate licensing and insurance.
Is security available?
One or more of our associates will be on hand to help you manage any matters of concern. You may also choose to add a private security service for an additional charge. Ask our events planning expert if your event requires additional security.
