Description: Automobile. This Super Sport's "Bi-Autigo" boasts the first V-8 engine built in Detroit. The cowl and front engine are cast aluminum and the rest of the car is made of sheet aluminum.
The car has retractable side wheels that must be raised manually by a double ratchetted lever. The horn button is on the steering wheel and a folding arm rests behind the driver's seat.
This unique car was designed and built by James Scripps Booth at a cost of $25,000. It weighs 3,200 pounds. It can't be driven due to steering difficulties. Mr. Booth decided that in order to make the steering unit function properly, it would be necessary to completely re-design the car. Although Mr. Booth had orders from all over the world, he decided to abandon the car.
Gift of Mrs. James Scripps Booth in 1960.
