Description DaVinci "Pup" Cycle Car, James Scripps Booth designed this car in 1927 and built it in 1930 at a cost of $30,000. It has an aluminum body on a wood frame, weighs 1,250 pounds and has a 104-inch wheelbase. It is dark greenish-gray with brown leather upholstery and powered by an all-aluminum 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine driven by two rubber belts on each wheel. With a boat tail body design, the car can attain speeds of 90 mph. The vehicle seats two people in tandem style; the passenger sits in the forward compartment and the driver sits in the rear, hence evenly distributes occupant weight, especially when the driver is alone. The driver's weight balances the weight of the engine since the total weight of the engine is 180 pounds. Gift of Mrs. James Scripps Booth in 1960.
Early Date 1930
