As a non-profit organization, the Detroit Historical Society depends upon financial support from the community in order to achieve our mission. Throughout our 85-year history, the Society has received many generous donations from individuals, corporations and foundations from throughout the region and beyond.
Donations support:
- Conservation and preservation of the more than 200,000 artifacts in our care
- New exhibits and programs at both the Dossin Great Lakes Museum and the Detroit Historical Museum
- Protection and security of artifacts, exhibits and guests
- Educational tours for schoolchildren and community groups
